Hack Your Energy (Bad Days)

I am a firm believer in the fact that we all have our good days and we all have our bad days. Some days nothing happens and some days everything happens. Some days are sunny and some days are gloomy– you get the drift.
The energy that it takes to get through the bad days is much more taxing both mentally– and many times physically– than the good days. This is the reason I decided to start hacking my energy by hacking my bad days. If I know I have a lot of “bad” (things that are annoying and will use up more negative energy than positive energy) situations coming up, I will typically try to batch those into a single day.
For example, I know I need to go to the dentist, get my taxes prepared, and repair a leaky faucet in my kitchen. These are all very “negative-energy” situations, but situations that need to be dealt with nonetheless.
Life seems to be full of more negative-energy situations than positive-energy situations as we get older. Negative-energy situations are typically coated in something no one likes…and it’s called responsibility. However, I like to push those responsibilities back as far as I can and handle them in one fell swoop.
If I put these situations on the backburner until I absolutely have to get them done, I can knock them all out at the same time. I can prepare for one day to be a day that isn’t going to be the best. The irony is that you will realize, when that day actually arrives, it isn’t actually that bad.
